Mr. Micah (M.C.) Strong Funeral services for Micah (M.C.) Strong, 97, were held Saturday, August 10, at 2 p.m.at the Holifield Funeral Chapel in Forest. The Rev. Clint Collier officiated. Interment was made in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Morton.

Locals are USM grads Almost 1,350 candidates for doctoral, specialist's, master's and bachelor's degrees participated in summer commencement ceremonies August 9 at the University of Southern Mississippi's Reed Green Coliseum. USM graduate Frank Meeks, who now owns 42 Domino's Pizza stores in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia area, delivered the keynote address to some 1,330 graduates that included candidates for 766 bachelor's degrees, 313 master's degrees, four specialist's degrees and 36 doctoral degrees. Local graduates included: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Henry Scott Warren. Master of Science; Timothy Donald Miller.

Strong died on August 4 at his home in Cleveland, Ohio. He was married to Mrs. Elnoria Strong who preceded him in death. A member of Cory United Methodist Church, he was a member of the usher board for many years and an active member in all church activities. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs.

Wessie Mae Barber; four sisters, Mrs. Beaulah Hughes of Mobile, Alabama, Mrs. Ora Ross of Laurel, Mrs. Rebecca Horton of Morton, and Mrs. Naomi Wheaton of Forest; five half-sisters, one half-brother, one brother-in-law, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Pallbearers were friends. Holifield Funeral Home of Forest and Newton was in charge of arrangements. Mr. William (Bill) Guyse Funeral services for Mr. William (Bill) Guyse, 90, were held at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, August 11, 1991, from the Ott and Lee Chapel in Forest. Rev. Lee Dolloff officiated. Interment was made in the Eastern Cemetery. Mr.

Guyse passed away on Friday, August 9, 1991, at the Lackey Convalescent Home in Forest, following an extended illness. He moved from Homewood and had lived in Forest for the past 55 years. Mr. Guyse was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church. He was a Mason, a farmer and a retired Citgo Oil Distributor.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Guyse, Forest, MS; one daughter, Mrs. Doris Jean Leahey, San Jose, CA; three sons, Mr. William A. Guyse, III, Arlington, TX, Mr.

James, Guyse, Morton, MS and Mr. Robert (Bob) Guyse, Poplarville, MS; one sister, Mrs. Pattie Noel, Houston, TX; two brothers, Mr. Ralph Guyse, Jackson, MS and Mr. Roger Guyse, Forest MS; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were John Bondurant, W.B. Madden, Marion Ueltschey, Aubrey Underwood, James Greener and Dan Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were R.O. Hannah and Mack Weems Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of the arrangements Mrs. Gerthie Richardson Funeral services for Mrs.

Gerthie Richardson, 79, were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday August 11,1991, from the Oak Grove Church of God in Polkville. Rev. Otha Lee Dennis and Rev. A.M. LaPrairie officiated.

Interment was made in the Polkville First Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Richardson passed away on Friday, August 9, 1991 in Polkville following a sudden illness. She was a longtime resident of Polkville and a native of Louisiana. Mrs.

Richardson was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God in Polkville. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Floyd L. Richardson in 1977. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. George (Allie Traxler, Polkville, MS and Katherine McCarty, Jackson, MS; seven: grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and: nephews.

Pallbearers were Clifton: Morgan, Clay Dennis, Clark: Dennis, Joe Richardson, Scott: Adcox and Melvin Wilson. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of the arrangements.
