Miss Judy Swords Wed To David Howard May Temple Baptist Church was sage. the setting for the wedding of Miss Judy Swords to David Howard May, son of Mr.

and Mrs. David A. May of Forest. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Ruth Swords of Ingomar, Miss.

Vows were exchanged in the presence of immediate families, relatives, and close friends before a background of greenery. Regal brass spiral candelabra were used to complement the center of the arch in the decoration. The candelabra held lighted matching candles and the brass baskets held gladiolus of white and yellow. Officiating at the double ring ceremony was Rev. Paul Ballard.

Nuptial music was presented by Miss Charlotte Jones of Forest. Given in marriage by her brother, the bride wore a gown of: organza cut along empire lines featuring a high neckline outlined in Venise lace. Matching lace formed a lovely design on the front of the full A- line skirt which ended in a chapel train. The bride's veil contained a band of gathered daises attached to organza entirely edged with Venise lace. Her bouquet was of daises surrounding a yellow throated orchid.

Miss Dot Finn of Atlanta, Georgia, served as maid of honor and David A. May attended his son as best man. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Swords chose a pink crepe accented with matching lace. A White orchid completed her attire.

Mrs. May, mother of the bridegroom, wore a blue knit crepe sheath highlighted with a vellow throated orchid cor- Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held. For traveling, the bride changed into a white knit pants suit, complemented with the orchid from her bouquet. Following a wedding trip to the Gulf Coast, the couple will be at home in Cleveland where the bride will continue her work toward her B.S. degree in physical education, and the groom works toward his Master's degree.

Personals Miss Pat Love, formerly of Forest, spent several days in the home of Mrs. Chester Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. George Brignac visited Drew Hunt i in the Baptist Hospital at Memphis Saturday.

Drew has returned home to Forest for recuperation from illness. Mr. and Mrs. Erle Johnston and Bubby spent the weekend in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Sunday guests in the home of Mrs.

W. J. Brown were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Boykin of Meridian.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Brown of Worthington, Indiana were weekend guests in the W. J. Brown home.

Wednesday guests in the W. J. Brown home were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lathem, Paul and Jeffry of Richmond, Texas.

Among those attending the reunion of the John C. Hawkins family in Pulaski Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. J. C.

Sincerely John Lee WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 1971 Forest Begins Meets September 14 The summer months are Fun months for the Business and Professional Women's Club. With a September 14th opening date for regular meetings, members are reminiscing with pleasure about the relaxing, social events of the summer. On July 13th, a picnic was held at Raworth Park.

Serving as hostesses for this occasion were Mesdames Waldo Pryor, Eber Hawkins, and Maurice Overby. Mrs. Myrtle High, newly installed President, discussed informally and enthusiastically plans for the coming year. The home of Mrs. Gladys Johnson was the scene for an Ice Cream Supper on August 10th.

Mesdames Ruby Agnew, Margaret Tinnin, and Dot Williams assisted Mrs. Johnson in the arrangements for this delightful affair. Mrs. Troy Hannah was welcomed as a re-instated member. Members of the club were reminded that material for the Birthday Calendar would be due early in September.

This calendar has been a popular club project for many years and the club would appreciate a call from anyone who has not been contacted for the new edition. Personals Mrs. Mary Maxy and Melinda visited friends in Forest on Sunday. Mrs. Dorothy Huff of Warner Robbins Air Base visited Sunday and Monday with Mr.

and Mrs. Marx Huff. Miss Maria Huff of Miss. Delta State University is visiting in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Marx Huff. Jimmy McCarty of Los Angeles visited several days last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benny McCarty. Beth Ormond of Jackson spent Monday night in the Mitchell Ormond home.

Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Stroud joined their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Harrison, Danny and Brent, and their son.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stroud all of Jackson for a weekend vacation on I the Miss. Gulf Coast. They attended the James Robinson evangelistic crusade which featured music written by Mrs.

Harrison (Dorothy Nell). Mrs. Harrison's Christmas Cantata "The Birth of the King of Kings" is just off the press, and she is now working on an oratorio, "'The Second Coming of Christ." Roy Fountain accompanied a contingent of Mississippi College to Ridgecrest, North Carolina last Wednesday for a week's stay. Mr. and Mrs.

Jack Chance of Natchez spent the weekend in the home of their daughter, Carolyn and Carl Howard Fountain. John Huff of Miss. State University is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Huff.

Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Burns visited Mr.

and Mrs. J. C. Galloway in Union Sunday. Misses Lana Johnson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Brenda Watkins returned Monday from a delightful visit with Mrs.

Danny Licon (Sandra Anthony) in Los Gatos, California. Mrs. Beatrice Owen is now convalescing at home here following treatment at a Jackson Hospital. Friends are glad that she has benefitted from the treatment. Mr.

and Mrs. Buck French and family, the Bobby Brunson family and the Carl Freeman family were Sunday visitors with their mother, Mrs. Mattie Lang. New faculty members in school this time are Mr. and Mrs.

Larry Costelow, English and Math teachers. He is from Newton where his father is BSU Director at Clark College. Mrs. Costelow is the former Jo Ann Johnson from Forest. Mrs.

Sara Bowman of Sulphur Springs is a fourth grade teacher here, having transferred from Neshoba Central. Prior to teaching there, she was in our school as Home Economics teacher then. Billy Madden, son of the Doc Maddens is a special reading teacher and lives in our area. Mrs. Norvelle Johnson from Coldwater in Neshoba County commutes and is the Special Alison and Stephanie of Leighton, Ala.

Howard McCrory Sr. spent the weekend at home and returned to the Progressive Care Unit at the Baptist Hospital for one more week of treatments. 0. D. Loper is in Baptist Hospital where he expects to undergo surgery this week.

Michael and Robert Glaze of Birmingham spent the past month with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Long. They all went on a vacation trip to Knoxville, to visit their son, Mr. and Mrs.

John Harry Lewis and family, and tour the Smokey Mountains. They visited their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stiteler and family in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Mrs.

Frank Walter, Newton, Mrs. Bartley Fikes, Jackson and Mrs. Homer Fikes, Brandon were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Gatewood last Sunday after attending services at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ruth Jones spent several days last week in Jackson in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tommy Bates, who underwent surgery on Mrs. Jim Ashmore, Angela, Friday at the Baptist Hospital. E. L. Burns. Mrs. Ray Sharp returned Friday from Port Arthur, Texas with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Winstead of Jackson. They went especially because of the seriousness due to the hospitalization of her granddaughter, Jobyna Sansing, young daughter of the John Sansings. The diagnosis was good news to the family and she is now improving. Mrs.

Jewel Johnson attended the Lawrence Welk Show in Jackson Saturday night with her daughter, Mrs. E. J. McDill. Mrs.

W. S. Russell of Decatur is visiting in the home of her sister, Mrs. W. W.

McCann. On Saturday night a tea shower was held in the home of Mrs. Billy Thomas Underwood for Miss Hilda Gilmore, brideelect of Max Lang. She received many lovely gifts. Mr.

Mr. Teddy Gould, enroute to his new home in New Orleans, La. from Atlanta, spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Arcie Gould.

Williamson Rites Held On Sunday Funeral services for Wesley Andrew Williamson, 84, of Route 2, Lena, were held on Sunday, August 29, at 1:30 1 in the Lena Methodist Church with Rev. Presley Snow and Rev. Lennis Nowell officiating. Interment followed in the Sharron Cemetery in Jones County with Ott Lee Funeral Home in charge. Williamson passed away in the Leake County Memorial Hospital in Carthage on Friday following an extended illness.

He was a native of Choctaw County, Alabama and had made his home in Leake County for the past forty-five years. He was a member of he Church of Christ and a retired builder. The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bettie Williamson; one son, 0. F.

Williamson of Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. W. T. Chapman of Jackson, Mrs. Robert Shackelford of Jackson, and Mrs.

C. M. Froehlick of Arlington, Texas; three stepsons, Jeff, Mack and Cassell Adams all of Shreveport, four step-daughters, Mrs. Maggie Clark, Mrs. Ruby Dykes, and Mrs.

Artie Webb all of Shreveport, La. and Mrs. Sue Gilmer of Marshall, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Hill of Moselle. The pallbearers were William O.

Chapman, Barry Glenn Chapman, Jeff Adams, Benton Webb, and Cassell Adams. Years ago when ExPresident Coolidge was writing a newspaper column at $1 a word, he wrote, "The cure for unemployment is work." It's strange that this original idea has never been put into effect.
