Htnei SSSSS9SSSSSSSSSSSSSgSS Funeral services for Hughey Edgar Harrison, 77, were held at Ephesus Baptist Church at 3:00 P. October 24, 1977, with Rev.

Bobby Warren and Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery with Bradford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Harrison died Saturday, October 22, 1977, at the S. E.

Lackey Hospital in Forest after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer, a Mason and a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. He was a life-long resident of Scott County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Harrison; 1 daughter; Mrs.

Modena Gainey of Forest; 3 sons; Marvis Harrison of Alabama, Robert M. and B. W. Harrison, both of Forest; 1 sister: Mrs. Clennie Lang of Meridian; 3 brothers; Gyde Harrison of Georgia, Pete Harrison of Forest, and W.

0. Harrison of Walnut Grove; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Michael Harrison, Ricky Harrison, Jerry Harrison, Douglas Harrison, Jerry Arnold and Kendall Morrow. Rev. James Chambers Funeral services for Rev.

James Chambers, 66, were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, from the Hillsboro Baptist Church in Scott County. The officiating ministers were Rev. C. C. Cornelius, Rev.

John Hopper, and Rev. Herbert Eichelberger. Interment was made in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Rev. Chambers passed away on Sunday at the Rush Hospital in Meridian, following an extended illness.

He had been a Baptist minister for the past 25 years, having pastored the following churches, Sand Ridge in Scott County, Line Creek in Scott County, Springdale and County Line in Attala County, and County Line in Wayne County. He had formerly lived in Kosciusko and State Line, had lived most of his life in Scott County, but had lived in Meridian for the past 18 months. He was a member of the North Crest Baptist Church in Meridian. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Lee Harrell Chambers, Meridian; one daughter, Mrs.

Raymond (Betty) Davis, Meridian; three grandchildren, Mrs. Shelia Walker, Mrs. Rachel Lynn McArthur, and Mrs. Ginger Carol Trammell, all of Meridian; and. five greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers were Junior Davis, Billy Ray Chambers, John H. Freeman, Milton Creel, Ronnie Creel, and Ricky Creel. Ott Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services for Herman Lewis (Sneezer) Gibbs, 44, were held at 2:00 P. M.

October 25, 1977, at Bradford Chapel with Rev. Clyde Little officiating. Burial was in Eastern cemetery. Bradford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Gibbs died in the V.

A. Hospital in Jackson, October 24, 1977, after an extended illness. He was a resident of Jackson where he operated a grocery store. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.

Mildred Gibbs of Jackson; 1 sister, Mrs. Jean Amis of Forest; 1 step-son, Sonny Bennett of Walnut Grove. Pallbearers were: Durwood Tadlock, Jack Hollingsworth, Terry Judge, Jimmy Gibbs, Billy Gibbs and Charles Gibbs. George Stribling Funeral services for George Stribling, 63, were held October 22, 1977, at Truelight M. B.

Church at Walnut Grove. Rev. D. L. Wash officiated and interment was in the church cemetery with W.

F. Mapp Funeral Home in charge. A native of Leake county, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Stribling.

He joined Truelight church at age 14. He was a veteran of World War n. He lived in Milwaukee, Wise, for a time until he was called to his mother's bedside where he nursed her until her death. Survivors are four brother, Lonnie Stribling, Detroit; A. T.

Gates, Carthage; Lamar Gates, Walnut Grove; Whitt Gates, Indianapolis, five sisters, Mrs. Lessie Mae Fortune, Mrs. Celestia Hudson, Mrs. Oda Cane, all of Chicago; Mrs. Christine Hayes, Forest; Mrs.

Annie Merl Bufkin of Walnut Grove. Pallbearers were Woods Bufkin, Robert Peavie, Carlee Johnson, Jim-mie Lewis, Depriest Fortune, A. D. Shoemaker. Participating in the service were Rev.

Clayton Gill, Mrs. Allah Jones, C. L. Fortune, Ferman Weathers, Lessie Baldwin, Mrs. Eula Moore, Mrs.

C. N. Carter, Mrs. Ella M. Christmas.

BROWN RETIRES Roy Brown, manager of the Mississippi Research and Development Center's public administration branch, retired this month at the age of 62. Brown is known well by mayors and their city administrations throughout the state. He specialized primarily in budgeting and accounting assistance to the cities. Here's why. No More Leona Hollingsworth Funeral services for Mrs. Leona Keahey Hollingsworth, 54, were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, from the Steele Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Hollingsworth, and Rev.

Don Savell were the officiating ministers. Interment was made in the Antioch Cemetery in Scott County. Mrs. Hollingsworth passed away on Saturday in Shreveport, following an extended illness. She was a native of Forrest County, had formerly lived in Scott County, and in Ruston, she had been a resident of Bossier City, for the past 10 years.

She was employed as a ticket agent for Continental Trailways, and was a member of the Waller Baptist Church in Bossier City. Survivors include one son, David Alan Hollingsworth, Columbia, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Fuller, Dubach, and Mrs. Leon (Audrey) Marsalis, Shreveport, her mother, Mrs. Daisye Keahey, Bossier City; two brothers, George E.

Keahey, Minden, and James Keahey, Bossier City, four grandchildren, Tanya, Charles, and Gennett Fuller, and Michele Usry News Sarah E. Bailey Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ella Bailey, 94, were held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, October 22, from the Ott Lee Chapel in Forest. Burial was made in the Harperville Cemetery. Rev.

Guy Sigrest, and Elder B. R. Ware were the officiating ministers. Mrs. Bailey passed away on Friday afternoon at her home at Harperville, following an extended illness.

She was reared in the Pea Ridge Community, but had made her home in Harperville most of her life. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, L. O. Bailey, Hattiesburg; six daughters, Mrs.

Guy (Effie) Sigrest, Yazoo City, Mrs. A. A. (Ethel) Mills, Forest, Mrs. Scott (Elna) Hall, Mrs.

Garland (Mae Jewell) Hamilton, and Mrs. O. E. (Bess) Tucker, all of Harperville, and Mrs. J.

R. (Myrna) Mapp, Pontotoc; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Homecoming activities will include various class reunions, a parade, arts and craft exhibit, talent show, the annual Alumni Association meeting, announcement of the "Alumnus of the Year" and "Order of the Golden Arrow" awards, the Alumni Banquet, meeting of the Sports Hall of Fame Committee and the Homecoming football game. The Mississippi College Cboctaws will meet Troy State University at 7:30 p.m. on Robinson Field. The homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime ceremonies.
